Care for Mounts |
Mounted trophies are fragile and should always be handled with much care. If cared for and mounted
properly they should last a long time.
I recommend feather dusting once a week and displaying at room temperature, not by direct heat,
sunlight or in damp basements. Mammals may be groomed but be careful not to use sharp objects
around the eyes.
Mounts that need a more rigorous cleaning or that may have been neglected or suffered smoke damage should
be cleaned by your taxidermist. Mammals, birds or skin mount fish could be damaged if the skins are
re-hydrated by moisture during a thorough cleaning..
